Beer tonight in NYC, cervesa tomorrow in Peru.

This is it folks, my last night in NYC. I can bet I won't be having a restful night's sleep tonight.  My bags are packed, my third closet is filled to the ceiling and at this point, I hope it's all done.  Chances are, there are plenty of things I've forgotten to do.

One really nice thing about getting ready to leave is that I've been able to catch up with lots of good friends.  My days and nights have been filled drinking, eating and seeing the people that have mattered most to me since I moved to New York.  I feel really loved as I get ready to leave.

It hasn't really set in that I'm moving out of the country tomorrow. It will probably hit me when I'm on the airplane getting ready for take-off.   I hope that when you read my blog, that you'll post something of your own.  Don't underestimate how much I would love to hear what's happening in your lives.  It will keep me connected until I return.

The countdown begins

So I start off week #2 of semi retirement. I'm not sure why I'm busier today than I would have been at work. For starters, I'm still trying to sublet my apartment.  This has been the single, most stressful thing I've had to do to get ready to leave.  I think I finally found someone over the weekend, so keep your fingers crossed for me and pray that the board approves the application. It's too late to turn back now and no matter what I always planned on leaving whether my apartment got rented out. It would save me a heck of a lot of money though.
